The ever increasing population trend of the new millennium expects new technical innovation to meet the new challenges being faced by human beings. Robotic arm are often given jobs that are considered dangerous to human beings. Due to its mechanical nature and computerized control, a robotic arm can carry out a repetitive task with great precision and accuracy, thus provides improves, consistent product quality. Robotic arm is basically an open closed kinematic chain of rigid links interconnected by movable joints. The end of the arm is connected to the end –effectors. The end-effectors may be a tool and its fixture or a gripper or other device to do the work . In this project we used gripper as end-effectors. There are many different types of robotics arms , but most can be characterized into one of six major categories by their mechanical structure. Cartesian Cylindrical Spherical SCARA robots Articulated robots Parallel robots The term robot comes from word “robota”, generally translated as “forced labor “. The purpose of this project is to design a robot which work like a human hand. Robotic arm works on 3 degree of freedom motorized and 1 degree of freedom deadlink. With this robotic arm we desire to fullfil the following conditions ; Cylindrical glass location pick and placement accuracy, Glass with fill of water, Matter: Glass, Plastic, Metal & smoothly displaced. The dimensions of the robotic arm are close to that of human arm consist of base , shoulder , elbow ,wrist , gripper . It works on three degree of freedom motorized ( base ,shoulder, elbow, ) and one degree of freedom deadlink (wrist). Motor(shoulder, elbow) in clockwise direction pulls up any object in our case cylindrical container of three different materials (glass, plastic, metal) filled with water.
